Amy Batchlor graduated with a degree in Archaeology and it may seem curious that an archaeologist should choose cakes as a career, but Amy says that there are similarities in that both professions require precision, a delicate touch and accuracy.
Amy’s love of baking took her to Cape Town where she became a Cordon Bleu cook at the internationally renowned Silwood School of Cookery, graduating top of the class in almost every discipline. Silwood boasts student achievement unmatched by any other cookery school in South Africa and their graduates can be found in kitchens worldwide. Indeed, Jamie Oliver, Gordon Ramsay, Heston Blumenthal and Marco Pierre-White have all had Silwood graduate in their kitchens.
Amy has trained under Mich Turner, MBE of the world famous Little Venice Cake Company, whose clients include H.M. The Queen and Madonna.
Amy’s credentials are faultless!
